I find that in real life (not as much in texting), I find myself having short, one-worded conversations that are boring and dull. How do I make conversations more interesting and make people more interested in talking with me? Also, how can you make a conversation longer?

Example:

Her: Hey there!

Me: Hey wassup

Her: Ugh I keep coming to school later and later…

Me: I know, right?

\*Both walk away from each other\*

You see what I mean? How could I have grabbed the attention of the person I’m speaking to better and had a more in-depth conversation? I feel very awkward and unconfident around people I’m not normally friends with and I end up being dry because I don’t know what to say to them.

  1. I’d just practice keeping a conversation going. I find asking questions relating to the person helpful, like what’s your least favourite subject? And if they give you a one word answer, than give them your answer to the same question, but more detailed and engaging, ending it off with another question.

Not every conversaion will go well, sometimes you’ll find you have nothing to say, but confidence comes with practice.
