I just can’t be bothered messing with my hair much
Do you mean specific products or do you mean using no shampoo/conditioner/styling products at all?
Fragrance causes me migraines.
I just use shampoo and a curl activator gel that works for me. I really do believe we are “groomed” to buy as many products as possible to encourage consumerism.
Because I’m lazy and I have fine, straight hair that looks the same if I use/don’t use a product to style it. So I save money and don’t use products.
Shampoo and conditioner is all I need, anything else weighs my hair down or makes it oily.
Because they did little to nothing.
The only thing that’s made a difference in the health and appearance of my hair is limiting heat styling, keeping it detangled, and washing it less.
Hair looks fine without them
I actually stopped using shampoo about 2 months ago. I just wash thoroughly with water. It never gets greasy anymore, doesn’t smell, and has great texture all the time.
I thought it was a lie at first when I read it online… but turns out Olaplex was making my hair fall out. It’s so damn expensive and I have so much left but I had to stop using it.
I stopped using haircare products outside the standard shampoo/conditioner when my hair was very short and in its natural color. My hair went prematurely gray when I was in my early 20s, which was also when I began to grow it out. The only real hair care I’ve gone back to since my hair reached my ribcage is using a leave in conditioner and hair oil though.
I have very fine thin shoulder length curly hair. I stopped using hairspray, mousse, hair dryer & curling iron at 15 yrs old. Let my hair air dry & be natural.
Because no matter what it breaks me out
Honestly I’m just decreasing how often I use them in my hair. After a long while of searching for what genuinely works, I found really nice shampoo and conditioner that makes my hair look and feel lovely. I just use them every other day instead of every day or less than that. Works perfect honestly!
When I turned 37 I found my first white hair and then my entire hair started changing texture. Went from super soft, straight and shiny to curly/krimpy and frizzy. And I decided that I would just commit to that, because trying to tame it would be a frustrating and expensive trial and error journey that I don’t want to start.
Fragrance bothers my allergies and I kept reading about bad for you ingredients in stuff (looking at you dry shampoo!) I just shampoo and condition using non fragranced “clean” brands and then blow dry. 🤷🏼♀️
A lot of them make my hair gunky and greasy.
They don’t do anything for me other that make my hair icky. Shampoo is perfect and when I have it long I use a mask too.
Too much trouble and expense for not enough result. And too hard to find any products that don’t smell like a French whorehouse.
I didnt
Plastic. So much plastic.
I stopped using leave in creams, mousse and stuff like that, because I don’t need them anymore with my current routine.
I wash with shampoo, use conditioner, and after that I only use heat protectant spray before I blow dry.
I hate heavily scented products, and the products that I could tolerate didn’t work under real-world conditions. The moment I step outside into humid air or do anything more physically demanding than sitting, my hair’s going to do what it wants to do no matter what sticky, stinky crap I spray on it.
