My local authority issues ‘kitchen caddies’ which are little food waste bins collected with the other bins.

When I suggested this at work nobody else had ever heard of them 🤯

  1. Mine are excellent at not collecting bins on the correct day and then complaining that the bins weren’t out…..

  2. My local authority / police are really stamping down on public littering, I’m so happy about it, I live near a country lane that’s not all full of rubbish and bearing people getting fined for not putting their crap on the bin makes me so happy

  3. My council doesn’t do any recycling or waste separation from my location.

It’s wonderful. Just throw everything into the big red wheeliebin that lives on the pavement and it all disappears occasionally.

I’d like to recycle and I know we should all recycle, but compared to three separate bins and a bucket and a box on different days it’s beautifully simple.

  4. The local area where I grew up spent few million on new bins then spend a further few million on storing the bins in a warehouse and then finally 5 years later rolled them out. This was after them building a recycling plant that could supposedly sort waste with no need for separate bins. The local authority there I live now have a good caddy which gets emptied each Monday

  5. We don’t have provided kitchen caddies, but can put kitchen waste in garden waste wheelie bin (bought our own caddy for the kitchen though). Then anything remotely recyclable goes in the recycling wheelie bin so the general waste wheelie bin barely gets used. Collection is regular as clockwork too.
