Hey guys I’m in this situation where I’ve found out my wife plans on divorcing me after I get medically separated from the Army. What she told the person was she wasn’t divorcing me yet until after I got out so she could still receive benefits. Is this true?

  1. I mean yes technically it’s true: as long as she is your spouse and you’re in the service, she’s entitled to whatever dependent benefits she would normally get.

  2. How long married and are you being medically retired or separated by MEB?

  3. She will receive benefits as long as you are married and in. Once out you will get VA poay for her until you divorce. Then she is on her own. Other than the screwing you may take from a judge.
