Basically I’m always paranoid about time and hate being late/ making people wait on me so I always show up early like 30 minutes. But I don’t mind waiting on other people and as long as they are with in 10 minutes of the meeting time or have a valid excuse. But lately I’ve been wondering if people feel uncomfortable knowing I’m waiting on them even though I explained it’s just my weird thing and they shouldnt rush ,also I feel awkward just sitting around sometimes. Am I over thinking it?

  1. I always show up on time. It’s a matter of valuing yourself, and your time, rather than a matter of what makes people comfortable.

Wasting time is bad for your psyche and for your relationships. If you don’t actively show that you value your time, then others will follow your example and take you for granted. Just like you might unconsciously be doing on a daily basis. Which isn’t a good thing.

That said, this is one of those small habits which often goes unnoticed unless you are really into socializing. So it isn’t super important, but do keep it in mind. Don’t be early if you can be on time.

  2. This also depends on culture. Here in New Orleans, if you show up on time to a social function, you’re early.
