It’s hot here in Vicenza, considerably hotter than it was in Sicily… despite being 1500km further north!
It’s a really beautiful small city,. I’ve been here before but many years ago, I’d forgotten how pretty the centre is, and the countryside filled with villas that surrounds the city.
The NBA draft is tomorrow, and the hype around Victor Wembanyama is so much, it’s kinda crazy. They’re calling him the most hyped prospect since LeBron. It’s interesting to see a European prospect this hyped, because the recent European superstars all were relatively unknown and not that hyped. Like Jokic was famously a second round pick, Antetokounmpo was picked late in the lottery, and even Doncic who at the time was coming off of a Euroleague championship and Final Four MVP wasn’t this hyped, I remember the American sports media not being too hyped about him at all. For the most part.
I hope Wemby works out and lives up to the hype. He is so skilled and so tall. Unprecedented.
Kraftwerk is really fucking good.
Edit: the Helsinki Stock Exchange has been open for an hour now today, and the downfall continues. Only problem is I don’t really have any loose cash to buy. 😭
I am flying home tomorrow. I am excited and a little terrified to see what has changed, and what has stayed the same. I am also very much looking forward to seeing my family. I heard that our apricot and peach trees are full of fruit and waiting for me.
