I don’t eat it regularly, but there are times when a bowl of cereal hits just right. Probably a handful of times a month I would estimate.
Almost never for breakfast though. More often its a late-night snack or hurried dinner before I have to be somewhere.
I’m 35 and had Chocolate Lucky Charms for breakfast. But I’m probably the minority.
my wife likes to eat cereal, I never do
I used to, but then realized it was contributing to weight gain, even the “healthy” stuff like Cheerios or Wheaties.
Bananas and shredded mini wheats are a common supper for me…
I eat it every day. Sometimes more than once if I don’t feel like waiting longer than 10 seconds to eat.
My wife and I don’t really eat cereal for breakfast. I would say a few times a year at best for me. Not sure the last time my wife did. More often it will be an afternoon or evening snack when not hungry for a meal due to a late breakfast/ lunch, but even then it is rare. Pretty much never overly sugary stuff like Fruit Loops or the like for breakfast. Even my kids don’t do that for breakfast.
My unsubstantiated feeling is that it’s probably less popular today but still fairly common.
Personally, I usually only eat breakfast in restaurants on the weekend or while traveling, and so have little cereal. Every once in a while I’ll buy some and eat it as a dessert/late night snack.
Everyday I eat a bowl of plain (unsweetened) shredded wheat topped with blueberries, pecans, walnuts, almonds, chia seeds, cinammon, and bits of high cocoa (85%) dark chocolate. It all floats in oatmilk.
When my parents don’t feel like making dinner, they have bowls of cereal.
I pretty much always have some shredded wheat and Cheerios on hand. Sometimes you gotta eat in the morning and cereal is fast and easy. I haven’t surveyed my neighbors.
I’ll have a bowl of regular corn flakes with some berries or some banana slices every so often. I don’t have that for breakfast though.
My husband regularly has cold cereal. Once in a while I will get a box for snacking. I eat hot cereal for breakfast in the winter.
I eat a bowl of cereal every single night. My favorite snack.
I rarely eat cereal; my wife does most days. My parents both liked cereal. Ymmv.
I almost never eat it but I would say it’s pretty common in general. It’s a quick breakfast and a lot of people don’t feel like doing anything more than just pouring a bowl of cereal that early in the morning, especially when they’re about to head out to work.
I pretty much always have eggs or avocado toast. Usually I put two eggs over easy on top of my avocado toast.
I love lucky charms and honey nut Cheerios. I eat them occasionally in the evening.
I’m 22, and I love cereal! I eat it all the time! My favorite cereal is Honey Nut Cheerios!
I will eat it very rarely. I eat leftovers or oatmeal if I even eat breakfast. My husband eats it a lot but he likes the healthier cereal and not something like Fruity Pebbles.
Fairly common. I can’t think of anyone who’s madly in love with cereal, but it’s a cheap and easy breakfast in the mornings when you’re in a rush to head out and can be nice comfort food on a weekend if you’re staying up.
I’m in my fifties and I eat breakfast cereal from time to time.
I eat cereal almost every morning. I have a keto crisp one or something that I eat right out of the box with my morning coffee.
Dude cereal is great I’ll eat it whenever
I eat breakfast cereal for dessert sometimes. Nothing like a big bowl of cinnamon toast crunch to wind down your night.
I don’t typically eat breakfast, but if I do cereal is not going to be a part of it.
I seldom eat it for breakfast, usually more like a movie snack or light dinner
Some do, but many don’t. I almost never do.
I eat Cheerios or Raisin Bran a few days a week
I have a bowl almost every night. I alternate between healthy adult cereals and sugary kids cereals.
I eat breakfast cereal, but rarely for breakfast.
I think pretty common although I haven’t in a long time
I eat cereal for breakfast almost every day.
Not for breakfast. And rarely with milk. Just snack on it dry from the box or with yogurt and fruit.
I do on occasion. Not daily, but maybe once or twice a week, sometimes at breakfast time and sometimes not.
I eat cereal all the time. I don’t know what the consensus is across the country. I’m sure the American Cereals Council (or whatever) has some data on how common it is for adults to eat cereal.
I eat breakfast cereal at least once a week. It might be eaten for breakfast, but I am eating it.
I don’t eat breakfast these days, but if I did it would probably just be a bowl of cereal. I don’t have time to do anything else for breakfast.
I love cereal but rarely eat it. I just forget that it exists
I eat muesli most mornings. Sometimes Cream of Wheat. I’ll occasionally get a breakfast cereal when I need a change.
I think the “breakfast” in “breakfast cereal” is a misnomer at this point. Most people I know have it as a snack either midday or late in the evening.
I do cereal for breakfast a lot. It’s fast easy and tasty.
I ate it for breakfast nearly every single day from childhood until I was in my 40s, when I decided it was bad for me and switched to English muffins. Every supermarket has an aisle packed with endless breakfast cereal, much of which is “adult” (i.e. Great Grains, not Fruity Pebbles), so somebody must be eating it.
The real question is who eats it dry?
I never have milk in my cereal.
