TLDR: as the title states, Wife lost her wedding ring and didn’t tell me for several months

So the other day I was enjoying a wonderful evening out with my wife, and I happened to notice she wasn’t eating her wedding ring. When I just raised my eyebrows about it, she laughed it off, and said she had noticed she had misplaced it over a month ago. She suspected (wasn’t sure) she had taken it off a month or so prior, and thought she had put it somewhere for safekeeping – but couldn’t remember where that was. She laughed again, saying she didn’t tell me because she didn’t want me to get upset about it, and because she would just happen upon it at some point.

About a year ago, the diamond fell out of her engagement ring doing some physical labor, and she told me about it right away. My immediate, and ongoing, response has always been “well, that sucks. We will get you a new one,” so I am really not sure why she thought I would get upset.

A couple points: I love my wife, and I know she loves me. We both work from home, and aren’t apart long enough for either of us to be cheating. I fully believe that her explanation is plausible… But she has yet to say sorry. I don’t care about her losing the ring. Stuff happens.

But damn, does it ever hurt that she kept it from me. I can’t even look at her anymore. Any advice on how to move past this?

  1. By talking to her about how you feel and seeing if she listens and talks things through with you.
