My best friend (that I met online) lives in a different country than me. Since we don’t see eachother in person much, we used to play video games together a lot or watch videos on youtube or TV shows while talking on the phone. Lately, we’ve been playing a video game with another mutual friend of ours. We used to play this game several times a week. As of recently, when we ask my friend to play, she says she’s too tired or makes up an excuse to not play. We haven’t played in quite some time, but I went on social media and saw that she mentioned playing the same game with another friend of hers (a new friend that she also met online). I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought we weren’t playing because of her mental health, but then I feel hurt and neglected when I find out she’s been playing with someone else.

Am I overreacting?

TLDR; My best friend won’t play a video game with me that we used to play often, but is playing the same game with her new online friend.

  1. Same thing happened to me. Used to play games every Friday with a buddy of mine. He started streaming and now he chooses to play with his streamer friends over me and my other buddy.

It honestly sucks, and it is hard for it to not hurt a bit. As a friend though, I am glad he was able to make some new friends that he can enjoy games with.

    Not an overreaction, IMO.
