be specific

  1. Doing things for someone but all they focus on is one negative thing no matter if time has passed and no matter if you already apologized and they kept on staying along with not naturally reciprocating.

  2. Working in management gave me a lot of specific examples but the general events sum up to the owners or fellow managers not listening because I’m either younger than them or a woman and not listening to me when I point out things that need to change or what’s going wrong in the business.

  3. When people don’t remember what’s happening in my life, even if we just spoke the say before.

When people don’t want to make time to be around me.

When people don’t return even a fraction the effort I put into nurturing them.

  4. Giving someone a gift only for them to “look a gift horse in the mouth.” For instance, my ex loved coffee, and I got him some beans from this fancy place where our friend worked, and he was like “This isn’t my favorite brand/style.”

  5. When you put a ton of effort into something for someone else and all they do is complain about all the things you should have done differently.

When you are there for someone when they really need, and then one day when you need something from them, they aren’t there for you.
