Cifas offer a kind of fraud protection service. It’s called a cat 0 and basically registers your true information on the fraud database. If any applications are made the cat 0 should (SHOULD) be flagged and a call made to you using your true registered details BEFORE the application is agreed.
Upside: most financial institutions use Cifas and will have the information
Downside: if you make any genuine applications they will also be flagged – expect to be called for everything you apply for going forward and for lots of declines if you don’t answer.
