American Dad
Archer or Rick and Morty if we’re going for adult stuff. Clone Wars or Avatar if we are going with kids stuff.
Simpsons and South Park are perennial favorites too.
King of the Hill
South Park has been the most consistent, Simpsons had the highest highs, Family Guy is the one I’ve watched the most.
South Park I guess? I haven’t seen a lot of any of them though to be honest
What’s the standard?
consistency? during its peak?
Quality-wise, South Park’s declined the least of the three.
But all pale in comparison to King of the Hill. Not only was it good, but it was *consistently* good.
It’s South Park.
South Park. The older I get, the more I realize how clever the writing can really be.
Th Simpsons is the greatest thing ever created.
Early Simpsons. Southpark over all
Bob’s burgers / South park
Boondocks
Futurama.
But amongst those three, The Simpsons was definitely the best in its prime. South Park gets points for consistency though.
I’ve laughed the hardest at Rick and Morty and South Park. There’s a couple seasons of each where it was kinda eh. I grew up with Spongebob, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Sprinkle in some Powderpuff Girls, and Teen Titans. Around 8th grade I found Adult Swim where it was the greatest hits. We’re talking Family Guy, Futurama, Squidbillies, The Venture Brothers, and who can forget Aqua Teen Hunger Force!
South Park
The first several seasons of The Simpsons is some of the best in television history. It’s a shame what the series has been reduced to though.
It was *Clone High*, none of those other ones.
King of the hill was the closest to being good throughout its entire run. Yes it declined at the end but not as much as others and ended at the right time.
I wholly expect to be disappointed by it coming back but we’ll see.
Simpsons was the most fun in its prime but I wish it would have ended not too long after season 11.
Echo the same king of the hill comments for futurama even though I didn’t feel the same decline in the last season.
South Park.
Bobs Burgers
Simpsons and Family guy had some of the best seasons, but long term I would say South Park.
Ren and Stimpy. Case closed.
South Park is still often quite funny.
Modern Day Simpsons is…pretty bad. It doesn’t help that several of the voice actors have either died, moved on to other projects, or just aren’t as good as they were in seasons 1-8.
I never liked Family Guy.
Futurama
But if I had to pick among those three, probably South Park
I LOATHE Family Guy.
The question should be King of the Hill, South Park, or Simpsons?
Futurama. It’s streaming on Hulu and still holds up a lot better than the other three. The dog episode is still crushing, I’ll always laugh at Zap, and it gave us the term snu-snu. It also has possibly the best ending of any series I’ve seen.
Bojack Horseman IMO has to be on the list.
F is for family and Big mouth have an animated sort of comedic take on real life.
Of the three shows listed, Family Guy is about #25.
The earlier seasons of American Dad were pretty good, and South Park is a classic, but honestly I think Smiling Friends might be my new number one right now.
Rick and Morty is pretty good. Recently watched the last two seasons and it got much more enjoyable because I was on board with its rebound into more episodic fun. The cleverness of the show is well suited for episodes and not long-form narratives.
I’ve only really watched South Park
Top Tier:
* Futurama
* King of the Hill
* Bob’s Burgers
Mid Tier:
* Older The Simpsons
* American Dad
* Big Mouth
Bottom Tier:
* Modern The Simpsons
* Family Guy
* Cleaveland Show
____
I put South Park into a separate category as it is a contemporary criticism of the current culture and issues at the time of production.
King of the Hill I tell ya hwhat
South Park. They turn out new jokes and episodes that keep up with whats going on
King of the Hill is the best because it doesn’t need to be gratuitous to be funny. Rick and Morty just is not pleasant. Family guy has never been funny. You will never be disappointed with King of the Hill. Also, Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021 and Smiling friends.
