My (best friends) 21st birthday is coming up soon and his mother asked me if I could attend it as they are planning a little get together party type deal for him. That being said we aren’t very close at all, haven’t been for a long time. We keep the “best friend” title on our relationship primarily because we’ve known each other for a very long time but truthfully he doesn’t care to talk to me or hangout with me anymore, he has other friends that he likes better then me which is fine but silly ole me has already accepted the invite put out by his mother, I’m gonna go there alone as I don’t have anyone to take, I’m familiar with some of his friends but I don’t know them or really click with them either. His family is also generally kind of awkward towards me and well I just don’t know how imma get through it or what gift to bring, I think I’m just gonna be there for a few hours to say happy birthday and show some love for him and try and head out as soon as possible. Anyways I don’t know what to do, would love some advice
