How do you pronounce Massachusetts?

  1. There’s a sneeze in it. Mass-achoo!-sits
There’s not really an accent on any of the syllables

  2. Mass-uh-chew-sets. My dad grew up on the East Coast though, so I may not be the most representative answer for my state’s accent. I’ve already found a couple other locations from that area that I say differently from everyone else here because I grew up hearing my dad say them the way they’re said by the people who live there.

  3. Is there some sort of dispute about the pronunciation of Massachusetts that we should be aware of?

  4. Massachusetts is easy to pronounce, just like its many towns like Worcester, Leominster, and Reading.

  5. I won’t repeat what everyone else has said… but I will say that I have encountered multiple people who seem to think the Ts are for show. They are not.
