I’ve been curious on what you guys in Europe enjoy watching and listening to. Do you prefer watching shows from Europe, or do you watch American shows? Also, how do you feel about Americans in general?

  1. Internet americans are annoying. They go into a sub, say they look for teammates for game x but they never mention their region like theirs is the only one to exist.

Having to convert units all the time while talking to them is quite an inconvenience.

In general I dont like TV and neither movies nor shows.

  2. Entertainment is overrepresented by middle of the road US productions.

Esp. Movies and TV productions are one big copy paste festival.

Maybe music, like Cardi B, Beyonce etc.. so some is good.

And like the BenefitNo2525 says, get rid of the retarded units.

  3. I barely watch and TV anymore these days. The only things I still watch live are some reality game shows that have audience interaction. Recently there was a new show called _Destination X_ that netted a winner at home € 10,000 for being essentially the best geoguesser.

The majority of other shows are American imports though. I believe there’s one channel that broadcasts cop shows like CSI, NCIS and the like 24/7.

My personal taste in music is somewhat unconventional since I like to listen to soundtracks and trailer music a lot. For a more conventional taste: softrock from primarily the 80’s and 90’s.

As for my view of Americans: the land of the free doesn’t seem that free in several respects. I’d certainly want to visit some places in the US and take in some breathtaking views, but I could never live nor work there. Crazy expensive healthcare, no mandatory vacation, backwards abortion laws, backwards labor laws, etc.

  4. There is so much of American media that you end up consuming a lot of it. I don’t have a preference myself between American and non-American things, I just like things that are good. A lot of it is American.

    >Also, how do you feel about Americans in general?

It’s easy to doomscroll all day as a European and only see a billion negative things about what’s going on in America. But every time I’ve been to the States and actually interacted with living and breathing Americans living their normal lives it’s been nothing but love. Real life is different than the internet.

  5. Music: mostly Dutch and European hardstyle, hardcore, house and trance. Some British pop, American rap and blues.

Podcasts: Dutch news, educational or historical things.

    Movies: mostly Hollywood stuff

Tv: Dutch (in depth) news and educational shows. Sometimes a Dutch talk show if the guests or topics are interesting. There are also a couple of Dutch reality shows that I like to watch.
Other than that, it’s mostly British tv. Top gear/the grand tour, British detectives, some British ambulance or police shows (great background tv). I watch some american fiction shows from time to time, but I can’t be bothered watching that every day. American documentaries can be interesting, but it’s usually not relevant to me and so I prefer Dutch or European ones.
