Men whose father has died but whose mother is still alive, what did you do for her on her first wedding anniversary following his death?

  1. We gathered as a family to just visit with each other. No plans or agenda. We just talked about anything and everything. We were careful to tread the line of respect and remembrance vs grieving…a good mix of both was done.

If you’re asking for yourself, I’m sorry for your loss.

  2. They were long since divorced, and I wouldn’t know when their anniversary was, anyway. Not my job, man.

  3. Probably whatever she wants?

That first anniversary after my husband died, I set my phone to airplane mode and took a long weekend in a B&B by myself, mostly just getting stoned, resting, and eating.
