We gathered as a family to just visit with each other. No plans or agenda. We just talked about anything and everything. We were careful to tread the line of respect and remembrance vs grieving…a good mix of both was done.

That first anniversary after my husband died, I set my phone to airplane mode and took a long weekend in a B&B by myself, mostly just getting stoned, resting, and eating.
