How do I get to know if shes interested without making it weird?

So I joined a track and field club and Im interested in a girl there. I dont know a lot about her but I want to get to know her better. First of all: How do I find out if she has a boyfriend? And secondly if she doesnt have a bf how do I tell her that im romantically interested without telling her that im romantically interested in case she isnt because that would make the whole situation in the club kind of awkward.
