My husband wants to clean up his look. I have a set routine, but he doesn’t want to spend at much as I do (about 200 a month). What are you guys using for hair and skin maintenance? Any budget friendly/reputable brands? Thank you!!! 🙂

Edit: what he is looking for: good face wash and moisturizer for his pores/dry skin. For hair he has medium thick hair, he’s wanting it to have some volume and smoothness. I tried some mousse for him, but I’m think a really nice light cream for the smoothness and shaping might be better- I just don’t know what product to look for

  1. Well recently I’ve been shaving my head so not much there lol!

What exactly is he trying to do..? You can get good shampoo at any store lol. This is a bit vague so maybe provide more details on what he’s trying to accomplish with his look or what kinda hair he has.

For a while my hair was getting fucked up from local water being HEAVY in minerals. This led to soap not washing out of my hair/skin leaving soap scum which dried everything out hard.

I had to start using shampoo/conditioner with apple cider vinegar. The acidity allows the soap to wash off. You can make spray with apple cider vinegar and other ingredients too, there’s guides online. I don’t know if that helps but thought I’d share.

As for skin, Neutrogena face cleanser works best imo. Keeping it minimal and basic with the face wash is definitely recommended. It does the job better than all the gimmicky shit with a bunch of unnecessary ingredients.

For face and body lotion, I highly recommend hyluaronic acid lotion. It’s realllllly good. Not too expensive if you get it on amazon, but the Neutrogena hydro boost stuff is the best I’ve tried, not too spendy a little goes a long way.

  2. All you really need is some Dove soap, some decent body lotion/face lotion like Cerave and you’re all set. That’s all I use and I tend to have good skin.

For hair, I shave my head, so… lol

  3. Many dermatologists recommend Cerave cleanser and other Cerave products.

Is his hair straight, curly, thick, thin?

  4. *”What skin care/hair products do yall use?”*

Hmmmm…..probably the same things I take every day when this question is asked in this subreddit.

  5. Just let him use whatever you use. They say that all beauty products work on all men, but not on all women
