No, but I have had 3 rotten eggs from M&S in the last 3 months, and never encountered a rotten egg before.
Something to with bird flu I think, that’s why you couldn’t buy free range eggs for a while, but I think that must have had an effect on the whole supply chain.
During covid there seemed to be a shortage of eggs as well, I assume it’s because eggs are used to make some vaccines, so perhaps they were being bought up by pharma companies or something.
So yeah, there’s been weird egg supply problems since covid.
Why do you want more than 30 eggs anyway?
Never seen a sign like that. Maybe it’s a regional thing?
Anything in yellow Asda packaging in my local one, only allows 3 per transaction.
There have been plenty the last few times I’ve been. It is interesting though, they always seemed to have fancy eggs like Clarence Court or the slightly blue ones. People would buy up all the normal eggs but not snazzy ones for a couple of quid extra. I got one large pack of eggs too that were all bright white like American eggs. It wasn’t advertised as such, just normal free rangers. Never seen that before.
