I (27F) have just been having so much trouble with online dating (in-person is even more difficult, honestly feels impossible with the fact that I don’t drive and have social anxiety). I’m a lesbian and the vast majority of openly queer women live in/near a major city about twenty miles away and understandably probably don’t want to make the commute. I’ve given up on hinge and bumble but am currently active on Tinder, OkCupid, and Her. I’m starting to wonder if I should just bite the bullet and use something like Match. Also idk if it’s relevant but my dating age range is set to 23-42

  1. the golden era of dating apps is gone. i meet more women at the gym or grocery store. im an average looking man and get 0 matches on dating apps both free and paid.

meanwhile if i approach a woman organically during my day i have far more positive results. infact i met a nice woman yesterday morning on my bike ride home. she was at the bus stop, she caught my interest and i spoke with her for a bit. i said good bye it was nice talking to her and she stopped me. she grabbed my wrist and asked for my phone number. i have a date with her next weekend.

last month i met a woman who had a particularly rare dog i dont see often which is actually my most favorite dog breed (duck tolling retriever). i asked her about her dog and she was surprised i actually knew the breed. most people mistake the dog as a puppy red golden retriever, nope they are red and appear like a pup full grown. anyway i asked for her info and we still hangout every week or so.

meanwhile during all this time i had 1 match on 5 dating apps and it was a scammer who immediately asked cash for me to meet her.
