Are there similar side effects when replacing an old IUD with a new one for the first 6-8 months as there are with the first IUD or will the body be used to it so it’s like you would just continue using the existing one (until it has lost its effect that is)?

  1. There is no change or adjustment. I experienced only 1 hour of minor cramping and 1 days of spotting and that was literally it after my replacement.

  2. I have mirena and I replaced it for the first time last year. No side effects although I was under the impression that the removal was going to be relatively painless and it was not so just letting you know.
