Not only has my employer not covered inflationary rises but they have not given pay rises out at all this year and they have pushed back our pay review window back until the winter when inflation is likely to have considerably dropped.
So I can see it now, we will get a raise based on the new, lower rates which completely ignores the inflation that came before it.
Fuck capitalism.
Only because I changed jobs. My employer wasn’t planning on giving us any pay rise – but changing jobs means I’m going up 40%.
I’m on benefits and my husband works for the NHS.
Very, very, very, *very* much not.
Yes but only because I changed jobs.
My old employer offered everybody a flat 2% pay rise when inflation was 10%+.
I left and got a 226% pay increase in 18 months.
Kinda daft, as I’d have stayed if they’d have offered say a 10% pay bump, or maybe even less.
Pay increases ends up causing inflation to stick
Yes we managed to cover the CPI amount of 10.1% at the time of our pay talks. Perks of having a strong union presence at work.
Yes via changing jobs.
