So I (m19) was at this event that this girls (18) younger brother was hosting. She was there and knew I was going, and she knows I’m interested. We’ve been talking over text but not had much time face to face. I thought this could be a chance to chat some and get more comfortable. Well I didn’t end up saying more than three words to her the whole time, and feel guilty about it. Tbf she didn’t make much of an effort either. I feel bad because we keep going to events (not together) and I don’t talk to her at all. Should I apologize?

  1. Well, it seems like both of you didn’t make much effort to talk to each other at the event

Instead of apologizing, why not take the initiative to start a conversation next time?

  2. Not necessary to apologize but you can explain to her that you feel uncomfortable in that setup and ask her out. If she accepts then you can apologize.
