Hello hello

I(m26) never really been all to good at dating / making friends irl , never really thought about it much just always thought i was the one that just holds back and watches it all from the corners , but recently found out i got AS ( Autism Spectrum – Social part of autism + OCD ) back in 2021 , starting going trough all the test and stuff gotten my drivers license , overcame my fears of going out in big open places / groups , recently also started doing volunteering work at the local hospital , Everything is falling on its place but now i started using dating apps to find a Lover , and it just feels off for a couple of reasons .

When there is a match , we talk for 1-2 weeks day in day out getting to know each other and stuff but than at one point it always ends up with me being ghosted by the other person . So i started to think am i to open , to fast going ,… stuff like that .

So i was wondering if there is a group / app or social media out there for people like wise , to find and meet new people to meet up and become friends with / dating

  1. I don’t have a heap of suggestions on dating irl, but I can assure you that the experience you describe of online dating is super common! It is not likely because of you or your diagnosis. Online dating is just brutal and hardly ever goes past the first line, unfortunately 🙁

    Good luck out there!

  2. The dating experience you have is common for everyone these days, the apps are really hard to make work. Sounds like you’ve made a lot of progress in terms of going into social situations so maybe look at putting yourself out there more, and meeting people organically.
