I never really masturbated a lot, idk why. I didn’t get a lot of pleasure when I touched myself and I’d rather just have sex with my boyfriend. But about a month ago I got really horny one night and started doing it and it was amazing. Since that night I do it almost daily, sometimes two or three times a day. The other day I even left work early to get home and do it. Any tips on getting a healthier musturbation routine?

  1. Daily, even more than daily, is not unhealthy. It’s not even that unusual.

    The only time that masturbation is an issue is if it regularly prevents you from having a good sex life with your partner, or if you choose masturbation over work and/or social commitments.

    If you are using a vibrator, the only other warning would be to vary things a bit. I.e. if you use the same toy in the same way every time, you can train yourself to not get off any other way – and then, you have to break that habit to enjoy sex again.

    Masturbation is utterly normal and healthy. Almost everyone does it.

  2. If it’s interfering with work or relationships, it’s borderline unhealthy. But daily or twice daily is not really an issue.

  3. Its about control. Just like with addiction, you simply don’t want it to take control of other parts of your life. If you feel yourself slipping in other aspects of your life like work, friendships or relationships thats when you need to pull the trigger and put a stop to it. Outside of that you should just enjoy being horny and masturbate to your heart’s desire. Literally. Try new stuff, have fun with it. You can even include your partner in it, try mutual masturbation it can be incredibly hot.

    As for methods, a good thing is to plan ahead and stick to your plan no matter what. Another is to have cutoffs that when you don’t stick to your plan you stop doing it altogether for a while or stick to a very safe routine like only in the evening right before bed or something like that. Then there is training yourself to do things you don’t immediately want to do, to gain power over your body and mind. Try eating an orange peel without any distraction, just sit in the experience and force yourself to do it. Or other harmless things like that.

    I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s causing you distress or medical issues. Masturbating is normal and healthy most of the time and for most people.

  5. There is no real schedule for masturbation. Do it as much as you want, but try to keep it private. I do it 1-2 times a day, and it has helped me for the better. Masturbation is completely healthly, and as long as you’re not doing it 10 times a day, you will be fine.

    I think a lot of people go through this with discovering pleasure.

    You should stabilize out as you get used to it and develop mechanisms to cope with it

  7. When you wake up and go to bed. That doesn’t mess up your day and also you enjoy it and can also pair with your partner well when you have one. If anything an afternoon break but gotta be careful and of course respectful and know what you’re doing to not cause any issues for yourself or others
