Trailer Park Boys
I don’t know if it’s still on Netflix (it probably is) but I can’t recommend “Samurai Champloo” highly enough.
Even if you’re not into anime, it’s just a straight-out amazing show. The writers did an amazing job of mixing Japanese-style animation with American Hip-Hop Music and an awesome plotline. Masterpiece, in my humble opinion.
Is Bridgerton “foreign”?
It’s based on an American book by American author Julia Quinn
*Which I totally don’t know because I read the books….*
*Elite* (Spain), *Dark*, *How to Sell Drugs Online Fast* (both from Germany), *Ragnarok* (Norway), *Into the Night* (Belgium), and *Alice in Borderland* (Japan) are some of my favorites.

The Fall
3% (Brazilian). It’s a dystopian futuristic show about a civilization that is divided by the poor and the 3% of people who are lucky enough to pass a hunger games set of trials that allows them to live in luxury while everyone else lives in poverty.
Very good social commentary for our current world with a damn good story.

Love and Forture (Japanese). A women falls for an underage teen, something not really talked about or seen in Japanese (live) media. Surprisingly thoughout the show people didn’t seem that phased by the fact that she is having sex with a kid, which also made the show good as it showed a part of Japanese society and how they deal with such things.

Kim’s Convenience

Lupin and Call My Agent
Would you consider Narcos “foreign”?
I loved The Rain (Danish), wish they’d been able to finish the series properly. Same with The Returned (French) which also just stopped filming without a conclusion. I also liked Dark (German), the original British version of Broadchurch, and Hinterland (Welsh).
Ministry of Time (Spain)- a Spanish government agency devoted to preventing changes to the timeline, which follows a squad composed of a 19th century literature student (as in, she’s from the 19th century), a modern paramedic, and a 16th century Spanish soldier.
Barbarians.
I was thinking a couple of years ago that somebody needed to make a movie about the Roman legions in Teutoburg Forest. Depending on which side you’re on, it’s inspiring or absolutely horrifying. And then, boom, Barbarians was everything I had hoped for.
Letterkenny, peep show, all of the British panel shows
Midnight Diner
Great British Baking Show!
I really like Dark, even though I had to watch some parts more than once since its a tad complicated.
All of us are dead
Dark, it is a German show having to do with a small town where weird disappearances occur. But it gets so much deeper/interesting than that. I would highly *highly* recommend it, easily a top 5 show I’ve ever watched.
Norsemen. Norwegian comedy series about Vikings. Makes me laugh to tears every time. Very well made and the acting is great. Highly recommend.
“All of Us Are Dead.” If you enjoyed *Train to Busan*, you’ll enjoy this Korean drama. It’s Korean zombies a la *Train to Busan* meets high school. https://youtu.be/IN5TD4VRcSM
Derry girls and The other side was also really good. Or was it called 3%?
Kingdom on Netflix was great. It’s a zombie story from Korea set about 500 years ago. It’s beautiful and brutal at the same time. I highly recommend it!
Peaky Blinders, The Last Kingdom, Barbarians
Squid Games was my last Netflix binge.
The IT Crowd for sure
Black Spot
Dark
Chalet
Bordertown
Signs
The woods
Any of the Harlan Coben series. They’ve all been excellent so far, and he’s got a deal to turn 14 of his novels into Netflix series, there’s like 5 or six already on Netflix and more to come!
Didn’t anyone else watch *Fauda*?
Lupin was pretty fun.
Anne with an E is amazing. It was also a colab between Netflix and the CBC.
Broadchurch. It’s got David Tennant in it and it was simply stellar. It’s a dark/gritty show and it’s twists and turns you’ll never see coming
Volodymyr Zelensky’s sitcom used to be on there, that was good. Uhh, kim’s convenience?
