“Briefly” is the key word here – did you talk for 2 mins or an hour?
Did the other person explicitly say, “Yeah, sure, let’s keep in touch,” and it *wasn’t* one of those empty “let’s-meet-for-coffee” promises?
If yes, then shoot your shot, my dude.
“Hey! Glad I found you, I hope you don’t mind me adding you. I had a great time talking the other day, and I hope we can catch up again soon. Have a great day!”
**Then leave it alone and ignore it. The other person does not owe you an answer, even if they read it.**
But in general, the who-follows-who game is toxic, so don’t waste your time worrying about it.
