What do you like and/or dislike about your SO’s parents?

  1. I like a lot about them but mainly that they treat me like one of their own children. They’re chill and easy to get along with, it’s easy to chat with them about basically anything. They’re great hosts and cook nice food and they look after us when we stay over, without being overbearing. I like that they have very wholesome, fulfilled lives with lots of friends and they seem to get out to do lots of things, go on holidays and generally explore the world (they’re semi-retired).

  2. I love that they are kind and welcoming and friendly.

I hate my mother in law’s cancer. She’s suffering, she’s probably at the end of her life, and I wish the whole thing would just un-happen.

  3. She’s a diagnosed narcissist who hates me and would rather her son date his old friend. I can’t do anything right in her opinion and she’s done everything to get him away from me.

  4. I’ve suffered abuse at the hands of his mom. I really dislike that. Would be happy to talk more about it privately to anybody.

  5. I like that they’re good people, fun to be around and don’t cause unnecessary drama.

I dislike that his mother acts out when she needs attention and that his father doesnt care when his siblings disrespect his mother.

  6. My in laws are the sweetest people ever. So loving and caring and kind. Absolute givers!

  7. I like that they gave birth to my husband. I like that they being they way they are shaped my husband into what he didn’t what to be. I like they seem to love animals. I LOVE that they live an hour away & hate to drive.

I dislike that they think they are good Christian people but I have heard both of them use racist/homophobic language. I dislike that they treat wait staff like their personal servant & then will tip them less than 10%. I literally saw his Mom snap her fingers at a pregnant waitress carrying 5 plates for another table because she wanted a refill. I dislike that they won’t change their mind when presented with facts.
