How do I make friends?

I’m in online school i type of online school where I literally talk to nobody. is there any way I can make local friends? I know a lot of people say get a job but that’s not really an option for me right now. I have anxiety as most people do and i’m not sure that even if I do find a way to meet new people will I be able to connect with them?
