  1. The Batman building in Nashville. It’s actually just the AT&T building but fond childhood memories.

Bourbon Street in New Orleans. It’s actually just a street but fond ahem adult memories.

  2. Tribune Tower – Chicago

    Pueblo Bonito – Chaco Canyon

    Flatiron Building – NYC

Mass MoCA – North Adams, MA

    The Hoover Dam

Bear Mountain Bridge – just north of Peekskill on the Hudson south of West Point (not sure which town it is in officially)

    The Getty in LA

Basillica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (truly the most beautiful church in the United States)

The AMC hut at Lakes of the Clouds – New Hampshire

    Millennium Park – Chicago

    Central Park – NYC

    The USS Constitution – Boston

I am going to take a hard no on the Guggenheim. It is the worst art museum in the country. Seeing amazing art there is like viewing it in a stadium bathroom. I cannot tell you how much I hate that building. The only building I hate more is the Boston City Hall.

  3. Most recently the MSG Sphere in Vegas. So damn awesome.

The Westin Bayview Hotel in San Diego. Eight hexagonal roofs.

National Musuem of the American Indian. Beautiful building.

Bank Of America Plaza buidling in Atlanta. The Big Pencil.

    Space Needle

  4. The Getty Center – Brentwood, CA

The Getty Villa – Malibu, CA

Many Glacier Hotel – Browning, MT

    Aldrich Mansion – Warwick, RI

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir – Robbinsville, NJ

    Watt Munisotaram – Hampton, MN

    Blanchard Hall – Wheaton, IL

  5. The Eiteljorg Museum of Native American and Western Art is another beautiful museum dedicated to Native American art.

  6. Chrysler Building – NYC

    Capitol Records Building – LA

    The Gateway Arch – StL

  7. Pretty common take, but I’m partial to the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings in New York. I just find that Art-Deco style appealing. Outside of Art-Deco, Philadelphia City Hall is a pretty magnificent building.

  8. The Corn Palace, South Dakota. I don’t think there is anything like it in the US.

  9. The Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and Grand Central Terminal in NYC.

The Beinecke Rare Book Library at Yale (New Haven, CT).

The Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center.

The Matterhorn at Disneyland (Anaheim, CA), Spaceship Earth at Epcot, and Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Orlando.

  10. The Presidio in SF. Civil war era meets Spanish with some Art Deco thrown in. Worst part is it was kept up better when it was an active base.

  11. The Glass House, or Johnson house, New Canaan, Connecticut

    Fallingwater Laurel Highlands, Pennsylvania

    Cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde

  12. It no longer exists, but old Penn Station. The place looked like it was made for gods. I’m a huge fan of Beaux Arts architecture. Library of Congress is still standing.

  13. I do like Montpelier in Orange, VA, where J. Madison lived.

    – Ft. Washington, MD with its view over Potomac.

    – Ft San Marcos and its sub-fort Matanzas, FL.

    – Mission San Juan Capistrano in CA.

    – Flatiron building in NYC.

  14. The cathedral of learning in Pittsburgh and the Chicago temple building are two fascinating examples of gothic revival architecture. The Garfield memorial is fairly interesting among presidential memorials. And the Cleveland Arcade is an interesting example of a late nineteenth century mall.

  15. The Chrysler Building in NYC is my favorite, but I live in LA so I’ll throw in a few from my city.:

**Walt Disney Concert Hall -** Very cool Frank Gehry design.

**LAX Theme Building** – I have always been drawn to Googie architecture. It feels very retro California to me, and I love that it greets you when you land in LA.

**Stahl House** – Just gorgeous. So LA.

**Cinerama Dome -** Lots of cool theaters in the city, but this one is very unique.

**Spadena House** – A random storybook witch house in the middle of Beverly Hills. What’s not to love?

**Idle Hour** – One of my favorite holdovers from the programmatic architecture movement. It’s a cool place to grab a drink, since the inside does feel like the inside of a barrel.

**Eastern Columbia -** Very striking Art Deco.

**Chateau Marmont** – An imposing little castle on Sunset Blvd.

A few in SoCal, but not LA that I also like:

    **Wayfarers Chapel -** So stunning.

**Kimberly Crest House & Gardens** and **Hotel Del Coronado -** My favorite Victorians

**Space Mountain show building** – I’ll get made fun of for this I’m sure but idc. I love the retro futurism of it.
