Yup, stick them in with a couple of towels to stop them banging around and it does a great job.
Some people do, some people don’t
Never heard of doing that.
Not shoes, but chucked trainers in a few times, yea. Usually put them in a pillow case.
Many machines have a Shoes cycle, so definitely a thing.
I’ve not seen any damage from very occasional use.
It’s for trainers / Vans / Converse. Not your formal shoes / brogues!
Trainers, yeah. They come out looking great.
Trainers on wool cycle, job done!
I’ve never done it, but you’re supposed to put them inside a pillow case or something. I remember my mum doing it with my white ones as a kid.
Personally, I’d sooner scrub them by hand in a bowl and clean with a toothbrush.
I’ve put trainers in there but that’s it – no one is putting 10 hole Doc Martins ina washing machine are they?
I put my trainers in on a quick 30 rinse cycle quite often
I’ve got a pair of Converse in mine right now!
They have a trainer picture on my washing machine. I do them once a month.
No it would wreck the leather.
I’ve done it. I can’t recall why, i probably got vomit on themm
Trainers – yes. Especially if they get dirty often. Why not?
Literally washed two pairs of trainers this morning.
Simple, no heat cycle – no fabric softener. I wouldn’t do any sort of dress-shoe, but any fabric/trainer/soft leather shoe comes out fine so long as you don’t use any heat.
To say the truth one day came to my mind to put the shoes in the watching machine, I don’t know why, but I did it. And I have to tell you that was an incredible idea (no jokes), the shoes were completely shiny and without any stain. BUT, these shoes were a year old, if you have a new one it is better you clean them once a week, simply with water and a rag, this way the shoes are not going to suffer so much.
If you decide to do it, just wash them with cold water and the delicate program. (I mean in the washing machine)
Our trainers go into the washing machine everytime they get too dirty to wash by hand. Think tennis on a clay court/ camping in the rain etc
Only cheap shoes used for exercise
Me. It has a sports shoe setting
Trainers shoved inside a pillowcase, yes.
Proper / leather shoes; god no.
Glad I came across this.
Got a pair of Grey Skechers – look more storm grey in places.
So – pillow case as my machine doesn’t have a shoe setting, predictably on 30° ?
I was watching a rainy golf tournament and the bored TV commentator looking at the muddy spectators said “They’ll be plenty of trainers going in the wash this evening…. I only found out you could that yesterday”.
