Today I noticed a friend had messaged me to tell me he was now using a different platform to talk to everyone instead of the one we used to talk on. So, if I needed anything I should message him there. It’s nice that he thought of me and I’m assuming it’s a good sign.
But should I reply? Is it the kind of thing that warrants a reply? We’re not super close.

I would simply reply, “Ok, will do, thanks.” Simply, easy and to the point.
