Do/did you have one?

Its aight. As a kid I thought it was cool. Now it barely registers.
I think they’re fun to listen to but I also immediately associate it with H2O
It’s not really different enough for me to have an opinion about it.
> Do you guys find it annoying? Cool?
Depends on the individual really.
The thing I notice more than anything when you guys talk is that everything gets a shortened nickname that ends in a vowel, like “maccas” or “tradies” instead of the full word or name. Most of the time I think nothing of it, but some Australians go so far with it, it starts to sound like babytalk lmao
It usually isn’t too hard to understand. How good it sounds depends on who’s talking, but generally I like it.
The way you guys say “no” is fucking hilarious.
It can be very charming or comically abrasive depending on the person and perhaps their particular version of the accent.
The one that makes me wince I associate with saying the word “no” like “NYAAAARW!” if you know what I’m talking about.
Met a girl in college who was Australian and we became friends. She had a very thick Australian accent and I have a pretty decent Southern accent so I guess we both thought the other’s accent was endearing lol
I don’t think anything of it one way or another 🤷♂️
I mean, it depends. There is a pretty big difference between Yvonne Strahovski and Crocodile Dundee.
I like hearing it.
I’m so confused about how you make your “O” sound at the end of words.
We love Steve Irwin and a lot of up grew up watching him on TV. So I guess we are used to the accent. I just don’t like the flagrant use of the C word. Which has nothing to do with the accent.
I’m not at all fond of the way you say no, so, glow, row, flow, go, low, etc. It sounds as if you’re adding a U sound followed by a strange R sound to the end of these words and similar. Otherwise, your accents are fine. I prefer it over many accents in the UK and Ireland.
Sexxxxy
I think I associate it with how you live in Australia (or at least my perception of how you live). Kind of down to earth , easy to laugh or have a good time. Kind of cowboys from down under. Lol, it’s a nice accent.
I know my sister finds Australian accents to be very attractive.
Personally, I think they sound kinda comical if they’re too heavy. Like a Fosters commercial or Crocodile Dundee. But generally speaking, they’re just like any other accent… it’s much more about the person speaking it than it is the accent itself.
You’ll find that many Americans like Australian accents. I could listen to an Australian girl talk all day.
It sounds Australian.
It’s always really surprising when I see a clip of an actor or actress from the movies or TV on a talk show and their real life voice is Australian. Sarah Snook was the most recent instance of this.
I have a positive impression of Australia. I’m glad we’re allies and all that. I’ve never been there, we’re nearly on opposite sides of the planet.
I have talked to one Australian in real life at least knowingly and he didn’t have an accent, just sounded like someone from the West Coast (surfer-esque), a little something going on with how he said the long-O sound or something like that.
I like it a lot. To me, it sounds a little bit like a British accent, but more adventurous.
I love it. It’s fun to listen to when watching Bondi Rescue.
Definitely don’t find it annoying
“At first I didn’t think he was hot, but then I heard his accent.” -my roommate talking about an Australian guy
Gonna sound old but a lot of us had no real idea what an Australian accent was until Crocodile Dundee. Then we all were really into it, and had a lot of fun massacring the accent through our poor imitations.
My absolute favorite. My Siri is Aussie. Lol
Obligatory [favorite Aussie clip](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1i739SyCu9I&pp=ygVBbGV0IGEgdGhvdXNhbmQgYmxvc3NvbXMgYmxvb20gYnV0IGkgYWluJ3Qgc3BlbmRpbmcgYW55IHRpbWUgb24gaXQ%3D)
Sexy.
Oy think it’s neato yeh mate?
I have never understood why you would put Shrimp on Barbie. But hey, you do you. 😉
I absolutely love it. Probably my favorite accent
I think it’s charming. It’s easy to understand, unlike, say, Glaswegian.
I am an Aussie in the US and I always get comments on it. How they love the accent, and have always wanted to visit.
Females: sooo fkn hot
Guys: yeah sure, it’s cool I guess
But let’s talk about your guys haircuts, FR!
It’s like if the British language became a hillbilly surfer.
Much like an English accent..sometimes it’s hot or cool, sometimes you sound like red necks. I’m sure there’s a regional component to that.
