Recent question about brands and my obsession with Polish Wedel’s mleczko got me curious. Are there any foods/drinks (could be alco) that you NEED to consume when you are in another European country? I ask about the things you can buy in the store, as the food from the restaurants goes without saying.
My list besides mleczko (good old times when I could travel):
1) Påskmust/Julmust – Swedish soft drink that is the best sugary deliciousness.
2) Lingonsylt (we have a very basic lingonberry sauce here, but it’s not even close)
3) Soplica — Polish alcoholic drink with different flavours (my favourite are hazelnut and cherry)
4) Polish instant noodles with a pickled cucumber flavor
5) Pastel de nata
Honorable mention and more like a wish to eat it again: surströmming.
I probably forgot something but I want to hear your recommendations.
