Basically whenever someone tells me something, that is all my brain can come up with. My brain is screaming at me to say something different but I can’t come up with anything.

  1. Ask follow up questions.

“What do you like about that?”

“What made you decide to do that?”

Can be good ways to prompt someone to talk more about something they’re excited about.

  2. Sounds like you struggle with engaging in conversations and expressing yourself. Trust me, I’ve been there too. One way to tackle this is by practicing active listening. Try asking open-ended questions and showing genuine curiosity. And hey, don’t beat yourself up too much about it. Not every response has to be profound – sometimes a simple “cool” or “nice” is enough. Practice makes perfect, my friend!

  3. Put them on their toes; push the discomfort to them and challenge them on what they say. Question back. One thing is certain, people love talking about themselves and love it more when you force them to do it.
