I hate when people try to tell me what a “real man” is đź’€

  1. “I’m in my (insert word) era.”
“Era” has skyrocketed lately and it’s kind of obnoxious.

  2. “Goated” and “The Ick”

Abbreviations aren’t verbs, and exclamations aren’t nouns.

  3. “Late stage capitalism”. That’s when you know you’re about to hear a high school level take on economics.

  4. That because a man does not like a show with a female lead, a woman comedian, etc he must be a sexist. And so many people go into full on attack mode. When it’s pretty much exactly the same stuff people would say for male led shows, male comedians, etc. There’s so much lumping all male fans of something together because of a few toxic neckbeards that pretty much everyone is against when they pop their heads up or whatever. It’s just sort of virtue signaling at this point, and it creates a lot of pointless conflicts/arguments.

  5. I hate the term intersectionality.

I say that as someone who identifies as a leftist and who puts forth a lot of effort to fight for equality.

But intersectionality in regards to discrimination or equality is basically just a stupid victim Olympics that people on the left like to play to put themselves above each other in their persecution fetish.

  6. “There is people doing worse than you”

Yes I grip that. But there is also shitty individuals doing much better than I am.

  7. “I’m not gonna lie”

It’s always unnecessary and 40% of the time they ARE about to lie but they really want for it to work

  8. “real man” or “real masculinity” or “man up”. Pretty much this X1000. Highly sexist too. Imagine how things would go if someone tried to tell women what a “real woman” is supposed to be or do…. exactly. But men catch this all the time from about everyone. I certainly do.

Edit: I forgot “man up” there. Same idea gets expressed – that somehow you’re not a “real man” when someone says that to you.

  9. “Speak your truth”

Nah, there’s truth grounded in objective reality. There’s also delusion and falsehood. If “your truth” is based in delusion or incorrect assumption, “your truth” is bullshit.

  10. “Slammed.” I hate seeing this used so often in news article headlines. “Blue party policy SLAMMED by red party.” Then the actual article goes on to say they had a relatively minor disagreement.

  11. If I hear another toxic woman claim a man is showing weaponized incompetence when he doesn’t do everything exactly right, I’m going to throw something.

  12. “Creator/Creative” used in the context of youtubers and the like. “I’m a creator. My fellow creatives” etc.

It’s generally a self-wank to make themselves feel superior. Almost everyone I’ve seen use that term makes shit they call “content.”

  13. “She’ll show up when you least expect it!”

Usually said by well-meaning people who are in relationships to those of us who are still single.

You don’t know that she’ll show up, and you don’t have to worry about your someone showing up, as you’ve already found them

  14. “Reimagined for a modern audience” bro just say you’ve run out of ideas so you’re mining old IP
