Hi I’m a 21(f), the title says everything. For context, I only have a learning disability in math so there is nothing relating to my personality and how I act.
Ever since I was a child other kids never really wanted to be around me and bullied me like crazy. I even got told in fifth grade that if I “wasn’t weird” I would “be cool”. This kind of always stuck with me… But when I was in middle school I stopped responding to bullies and kept to myself and my friends. However, ever since I graduated high school people have still been treating me like I was dumb; People talk to me slowly like I don’t understand what they’re saying, they even give me weird looks when I talk about literally anything like I just said something extremely childish.
I work at a school and my coworkers give me weird looks almost every single day, even the principal sometimes gives me strange looks! There’s been times a coworker responds to me and speaks to me like I’m one of their students. Am I doing something wrong? I’m pretty confident in my own skin, I speak like I’m an adult and know what I’m talking about, I truly don’t understand why people have been treating me this way my whole life.
TL;DR! Everyone throughout my life treats me like I’m a child and responds in a way like I don’t understand what’s being said to me. Coworkers at the school I work at also treat me this way.

Give examples of what you say when you get weird looks from them.
How young does your voice sound? Do you speak slowly or look like you have Down’s syndrome?
It’s really hard to tell without seeing an interaction. There are a lot of stereotypical things that people make wrong impressions from.
