Anyone ever had this issue? I want to emphasize barely drink because I think for my age I drink very little. Anywhere from 1-2 beers in one weekend to 1-2 beers in a month if I am not with friends. I can drink socially so if, say, I attended weddings and parties in one month I’d drink but honestly not much

I just went to the doctor and this past month in particular I drank a little more than usual because I was on a cruise …but 70% of what I drank was actually Heineken 0.0. I’m 5’6 150lbs 37y/o and I work out pretty regularly (lift weights on days I don’t go to Orange Theory) and wondering if anyone has dealt with high values like this and what was the issue. The only correlation I can see is my triglycerides are a little high at ~250. Thanks.

  1. Ast and alt are commonly screened enzymes for liver issues. What is the ratio of ast:alt? If it’s greater than 1 you may be drinking too much. If it’s less, you may be developing fatty liver disease. Other organs make AST, but not a lot so it’s usually indicative of liver damage.

  2. ALT 76 / AST 31 for me. I’m 39, 5’9 230lbs though. My enzymes have always been high. I don’t drink often, but when I do….

It’s weird because they don’t seem consistent for me. They’ve been high when I’m not drinking regularly, and low when I am. I don’t really understand it tbh
