Basically my phone is full of unread messages from friends, family, colleagues, and some people I don’t talk to often, so I don’t consider them as close.
I took the liberty to respond late, but now it’s been days/weeks and (in some cases) months, I don’t see how I’m not an asshole at this point.

The only one I make an effort for texting is my gf but I’m not even constant with that

I don’t know how to explain it, when I see all the unread messages I know I feel anxiety, and they make me remember that I have unanswered messages on other platforms and I just end up doom scrolling and ignore everyone.

I also have a lot of meetings with said family/friends that i said would happen but I never made an actuall effort.

Can you idk, diagnose me?

  1. At this point you can just… delete stuff. Just clear it off the table and get it out of your way.

Delete social media apps you don’t use, limit the channels in which to be contacted. Tinker with your notification settings and how notifications show up on your phone to limit the reminders.

And then dig into why this causes you so much distress. Anxiety is normal, but it can grow, and when it starts getting in the way of everyday life you need to address it.
