As the title asks, is moaning a real part of sex? I (M21) have never moaned while having sex, or masturbating. Same with my girlfriend (F21). She does kind of moan when I’m hitting the right spots but other then that it’s just nothing. Some movement here or there but I haven’t made her full on moan or scream in pleasure. Could it be the porn I watched that thought that girls moan? Idk

Moaning is something like laughter. Sometimes you do it, sometimes you don’t. Generally more in mixed company than by yourself. It is a form of communication.
But also, people fake it. Like people can easily fake laughter. And porn is not an example of anything real, at all.
Porn is fake entertainment. That said, some people moan. Some don’t.
Don’t take any expectations from porn. It’s entertainment design to be stereotypical and efficient. Different people react differently to different things. People moan, scream, breathe heavily, whimper, groan, babble, wail, etc. Even if someone is whisper quiet, they should get into the habit of giving their partner(s) come kind of feedback and communication during. It’s important.
I def moan and it’s genuine, but if I pay attention I can be quieter. I didn’t get louder until I got a bit older and more comfortable sexually… my husband makes some noise not much and an occasional “that’s so good” but nothing more. Everyone is different no right or wrong.
