Has anyone else ever had problems with tampons? Like for me it just won’t go all the way up (even when I’m comfortable), I can still feel it when I know you’re not supposed to if it’s in properly, ..?? Today I was putting one in and it hurt my stomach? I don’t even know how that could that happen but now my stomach is sore having taken it out 8 hours later. Obviously they’re not for everyone, I’ve seen people discuss similar experiences, but it’s weird to me because our bodies should be able to accommodate/handle them. (Not speaking on behalf of those with disabilities/medical conditions and so forth).

  1. You could be getting the angle wrong. You could go in with your finger and see where your vagina goes (when you’re not on your period). I learned to do mine sitting on the toilet rather than putting my leg up or laying down. You could also be using tampons that are too large. I could always feel a super, even when it was in correctly. I don’t know why your stomach hurt, maybe you had it resting on a nerve?

  2. Hey OP, have you been to a gynocologist before?

Struggling with tampons isn’t super uncommon when you’re trying them out for the first time, but usually people who struggle getting them in at all have a differently shaped hymen. That might be worth looking into if you haven’t done so already.

  3. I tried twice and gave up after that because of how uncomfortable it felt. For me it’s pads which I’m totally fine with.
