Example : red to magenta , or blue to purple . Edit : those saying “ change nothing “, keep in mind , the flag has changed at least 8 times in the history of the US.

  1. I wouldn’t, because I appreciate the symbolism of an ideal.

    Red- Valor/Bravery

    White- Purity/Innocence

    Blue- Justice/Perseverance/Vigilance

  2. I think I’d change red to pink for like a year, just to piss off homophobes.

  3. The white stripes to black. Red looks so much better with black.

  4. I wouldn’t change the color I would change one of the colors just enough to make it noticeable if you properly look at it – just so I could watch people being like “dose the flag look a little different to you”

  5. Things don’t need to be changed for the sake of change.

The only change I agree with wholesale is the addition of more stars / change of star pattern to accommodate those stars if when states join the union.

  6. I’d change the white to ever-so-slightly off-white. The kind of off-white where you notice it, but it’s so subtle you think your brain is tricking you

  7. I’d change nothing.

And every one of those times that flag was changed, the colors weren’t.

So let me repeat what I’ve said before: I’d. Change. Nothing.

  8. The US flag has always been red, white, and blue. There’s absolutely no reason to change that.

  9. colorblind, don’t care. Your examples are the same color as the original, to me.

  10. Make it amber and purple, and change the national anthem to America the Beautiful to match.

  11. None. And yes, the flag has changed, but it’s only changed either in dimensions or the number of stars and stripes since the Revolution.

The colors and basic elements aren’t subject to change.

  12. None of them. 🇺🇸

Now, please don’t mistaken this for a stubborn belief that the flag should never change or can never change! If somebody brought forward a sensibly designed flag to replace our current one or if somebody could present a color scheme that respects the symbolism and the story of the United States the way our current flag and its color scheme do, I will be open minded, though probably not thrilled.

Our current flag kicks ass. The white star pattern forces the flag to stand out. 🇺🇸🗽 Everything I could possibly ask for in a national flag is in the American flag. I am very much satisfied with our banner. It is one of the cooler banners of the world. Not even speaking as a patriot, just speaking as a human, the US flag is visually awesome. There are a lot of boring flags in the world and our national banner is not among them.

    TLDR: 🇨🇴 🇪🇨 🇻🇪
    🇷🇺 🇳🇱 🇫🇷
    🇸🇬 🇵🇱 🇮🇩

Look at these flags and then look at our flag. I’m perfectly satisfied with the distinctive, white stars against the pattern of our flag and its not so distinct color scheme. 🇺🇸

    For comparison:

  13. The US flag has changed *designs* multiple times, and mainly to add stars. It has never changed colors.

  14. I’m in favor of changing the star layout, or using some micro-symbolism for each state with the purpose of simplifying its design. A single star would be much better, e pluribus unum and all, but that would be less “spangled”.

The colors though? Keep them the same.

  15. Only thing I’d change is getting some more stars on there. We can just divide up California and Texas if we need to.

  16. I honestly do not give one shit about flags, so I couldn’t care less about any changes. Some people get so weird and cultish about them.

  17. Red white and blue is so boring. Seems like half the world is using those colors, let’s do something exciting. Throw in some neon Orange, yellow, pink, purple… fuck it just make the flag a full on gradient like those color wheels in video games.

  18. >those saying “ change nothing “, keep in mind , the flag has changed at least 8 times in the history of the US.

Way more than that. A star gets added every time a state is added to the Union so by my count there have been 26 revisions since 1777, or on average once every nine and a half years. In fact, since there have been no new states since 1959 the 50-star flag has been in use longer than any other.

But the colors, which is what you asked about, have never *ever* changed.

  19. Hmmm, maybe change some of the stripes to green. Like, have the lines still alternate red and white on the top half and alternate red and green in the bottom half.

That could add additional meaning, because I’ve always felt that green symbolizes the promise of abundance and the environment, which is a big aspect of American culture. Having the white on top and green on bottom could also mirror the idea of the sky and the earth for added symbolism.

Note: I’m not saying we *should* do this, that I hate the flag, or that this would even look good. It’s just a fun exercise.
