H-E-B is the only option
Publix
Woodmans.
Trader Joe’s once a week. Costco about every six weeks.
Depends.
Back at home (Colorado) I go to King Scoopers, sometimes Safeway
Here (Arizona) I go to Fry’s, sometimes Safeway
Kroger here in Ohio
back in Texas I loved Target but we don’t have Target’s with groceries in my city
Usually Whole Foods but I’ll do Safeway if I need some brand name crap my kid wants
Aldi and Costco. Meijer or the produce market if I need something not sold at the first two.
Aldi, Walmart for things I can’t find at Aldi.
Food Lion, Walmart for what I can’t find there
H‑E‑B if I’m in Texas. Kroger or Walmart if I’m anywhere else.
Safeway. Decent gluten free selection, convenience, sales for loyal shoppers
crossing to Canada and going to a Save on Foods
Winco
It use to be Safeway until food prices skyrocketed.
Hannaford
Publix, Aldi and Trader Joe’s.
Wegmans.
Aldi is my main one, but lately they haven’t been the cheapest for certain things so I’ll go to other stores too.
Out in the suburbs, Walmart is basically the only option.
I’ll make the extra drive out to Publix for produce though, as my local Walmart seems to always be highly inconsistent with produce quality.
Meijer
Food Lion
HEB, the best grocery store ever
Shop n Save
Hy-vee (Midwest chain), aldi, target, Costco …I’ll go anywhere but Walmart really
Meat Farms
Winco and Grocery Outlet
And farmers market for produce
Most of my life, it was Krogers. There are far more of their locations than any competitors where I grew up, and i generally liked shopping there, the prices were fair, and they had a great selection of generics.
However, over the last 5-10 years, the Krogers where I live now in a different state have fallen way off. They often don’t even staff cashiers, demanding that you go to the self checkout, but at the same time making it really hard to buy a cart full of groceries that way. The prices have gone way up, they rarely give coupons now, and the selection of generics is pitiful.
And so I’ve mostly switched to Wegmans. The prices are comparable for most things, the stores are well lit and clean, the produce is far superior, and they have lots of registers open most days. It seems like they treat their employees well too.
Walmart app with home delivery.
I drive past 3 grocery stores to go to Lidl.
Wegmans. Work there too. It’s a great place for shoppers for sure.
I do most of my grocery shopping at Meijer. If I’m just running out quickly for one or two things I go to Kroger.
Winco is the way
HEB or die.
Wegmans
#H-E-B
Where you can store brand products that taste way better than name brand! And is actually quite affordable too!
HEB
Walmart
Market Basket
H‑E‑B
When I was a kid we used to go to Acme, but as an adult they seem a little interior to Giant. Wegmans is by far the best, but they’re a little too distant to buy ice cream from in the summer.
HEB
Aldi or Lidl. On the occasion that I need something that neither of them has, I go to Harris Teeter, Target or Walmart.
Walmart is the only real option.
