Well, I haven’t had friends of any kind for about 6 years now. I start uni soon and am terrified I’ll remain a loner. If I don’t get any friends I’ll probably drop out. In the last 6 years of secondary school I’ve had barely any chat with people my age.

A good month for me is having a conversation longer than 10 sentences . Like once a month. I went to school. Went to class. Had lunch in the bathroom. Went back to class then went home. 0 talking really. I could go weeks without talking to someone other than family and teachers.

I’m really starting from scratch here and don’t even know where to start. I have orientation on Saturday for like 6 hours welp. So that’s the first time I’ll meet anyone from my course :,).

  1. In uni you are starting from scratch. Nobody know you so you can reinvent yourself into whoever you wanna be. Wanna be social? Give it a try! Start talking to people and introducing yourself. Don’t worry about being awkward because everyone is nervous. Try your best to talk to as many people as possible and push yourself out of your comfort zone. You’ll be so thankful for it later

  2. The second you sit down next to someone in class, say something to them. With a smile. This will make you approachable and the person will feel more comfortable talking to you too. Also, sit in the middle, maybe off to the side a bit.
