Bought something over the weekend which turned out to not be what it was listed as when it arrived yesterday, and so the seller has sent me a prepaid postage label I need to print out and stick onto the parcel. Once I’ve done that is it as simple as just dropping it off at the post office and I’m gone, or will they need to measure it and label it same as when you send something off without prepaying? TIA

  1. Yep that’s it. Hopefully they’ll give you a receipt too so you have some proof of postage.

  2. Take it into to the post office. They’ll likely weigh it to make sure the prepaid postage is sufficient.

They’ll give you a receipt, which you may be able to use to track delivery of the package.

    That’s it!

  3. Pop the label on it, take it in, and ask for a receipt for proof of sending. That’s literally all you need to do. No measuring or weighing, the prepaid label is for an existing account with royal mail, nothing you need to be concerned about.

Just make sure the old delivery labels are removed or blacked out, so they don’t get accidentally used by mistake. Even just scribbling over them with a biro so it’s obvious they’re no longer valid is fine.

  4. I had this the other day and was told that the seller would have to issue me with a returns label. Was really confused why as I had the pre-paid postage already on it.

I think she was just being a jobsworth though.
