My best friend (F28) is upset with me (F27). In the past few months, I tried initiating conversations to hang out, but it was rarely possible on her end.

A few weeks ago, she was on vacation with other people. When she returned, she asked if I wanted to go to an event with her, and I simply replied that I wasn’t sure because I was visiting my boyfriend’s parents in another town. She quickly said she’d find someone else to go with her because she didn’t want to go alone, and I said okay. A few days later, when I returned, I tried to contact her again, but she barely talked to me.

I eventually asked if something was bothering her, and she said no, asking why I was asking. I replied that it was difficult to make plans with her recently, with an emoji.

She started responding defensively, saying I was being unfair, even suggesting that I was always making excuses and implying that I lied about visiting my boyfriend’s parents. I was really saddened and surprised by that long text in the chat. I expressed my thoughts, but she didn’t respond further.

Yesterday, I told her it didn’t make sense for us to be like this because we’re both adults, and I didn’t want to lose our friendship over misunderstandings. She finally replied that she couldn’t respond to the matter and asked for some time. I’m very sad because I don’t think it should have come to this, and I feel ignored.

Sorry guys, english is not my native language.

TL:DR best friend is upset and I don’t know if our friendship is over.

  1. To be honest she doesn’t sound like a good friend. Like I can see you and her fixing things but I think you value the friendship more than she does. Worried she might only be friends with you when it’s convenient for her.
