I (27 F) come from a pretty difficult family situation. It’s something I’m trying to work through the best that I can. We have some toxic issues in our family right now.

In the last two and a half years, I’ve met one total guy (25 M) who has never once seen my toxic situation has a problem. He thinks I’m a special person, am capable of healing, and has told me he’s “always got me.” He never made me feel bad, and never pressured me for anything.

But the one problem is, he’s also the one guy that didn’t know me very well. I don’t get it.

I feel so stupid for caring about him, because of the current dating culture we live in. But how could he have been this kind to me if he didn’t know me that well?

TL;DR guy who didn’t know me was super kind

  1. Sorry, this makes no sense. There was a man who was willing to engage with you despite your toxic family situation, and you think it’s only because he doesn’t know you?

  2. I mean some people are just decent people. Being kind shouldn’t really be a high bar to clear.
