In a moment of passion, we had sex without a condom and I came inside. I had a vasectomy about 2 months ( more specifically 9 weeks) ago, but haven’t quite done the semen test. I know, a stupid move to have unprotected sex without getting confirmation.

Just wanna know, should we too concerned?

  1. I assume you followed the guidelines, then yes you will be perfectly fine, these may be different based on your on geography, but generally speaking you should have ejaculated 11 times on your own (or using condom, or using other prevention), why 11 I don’t know it’s the local guideline where I reside.

  2. The semen test exists to tell you whether or not it’s safe to have unprotected sex without fear of pregnancy. You wouldn’t need a test if amount of time alone was sufficient to be sure. The only one who can answer this properly is your doctor

  3. It just comes down to if the procedure was successful, which it most likely was. I’d say the chances of you having any problem are very low.

  4. If she does not want to become pregnant your partner should take plan b as soon as possible. It’s effectiveness at preventing pregnancy diminishes greatly 24 hrs after sex, but can still prevent pregnancy up to 72 hrs later.

If more than 72 hrs has passed plan b cannot prevent a pregnancy. She will need to wait ~21 days to get an accurate pregnancy test, or immediately upon her first missed period.

Even if you get a sperm test immediately you will not know whether you were fertile when you had sex. Until you get a sperm test which indicates no sperm are present in your ejaculate you will need to continue to use condoms and ideally another form of birth control.

  5. GET THE TEST.

I git divorced last year, 15 years after a vasectomy. When I started a new relationship, I got the test – just to make sure. Seven kids between us. We wanted neither condoms nor an eighth child.

It’s literally jacking off in a cup. Do it.
