Light a match?
I just take the tray out as soon as poss and open the windows, tbh.
Remove the poop and spritz litter tray deodoriser (simple solutions) in the tray.
Litter trays live in the bathrooms/toilets. They all have candles that can be lit and windows that can be opened.
Guess you could give incense a go, older sister used to burn the stuff in her room loads. Which reminds me, I’ve got to ask her if it was just part of her emo phase or covering up another smell.
Stinky poo could be due to the change in diet if you just got your cat. It should hopefully settle down after a week or two as long as you’re not feeding them food like felix, whiskers and the other brands we all know from the telly. A lot of those foods are the equivalent of fast food junk for cats and aren’t great for your cat or their digestive health.
The choice of cat litter and if your cat covers can have quite an effect on the odour. We use Cats Best Original cat litter which I think is corn based. As long as the poop is covered quickly it really stops the smell.
As for spray air freshener, any will do really in our experience. Just don’t spray it anywhere near the tray when your cat is around as you might scare it and you could end up with toilet issues if your cat is scared of the tray.
None. Anything that you spray into the air falls down and lands on the cats fur. Cats lick themselves thus inject all that nasty fall out from difusers.
Just pick it up immediately and open a window. If you keep the litter box clean, it shouldn’t stink at all beyond a few minutes before you pick it up.
I use a reed diffuser. It also helps to buy good quality litter. I get Ever Clean litter from Amazon and it’s excellent for keeping the smell down.
Get some from M&S……….the fragrance lasts long. you can combine it with matching candle or room spray
I’ve read that reed diffusers are fine for cats
