Well the Toyota Camry was the best selling car for like a decade soooo
Two of THE most popular car brands in the US, which have consistently ranked at or near the top for annual sales, are Asian ones: Toyota and Honda.
Reasonably popular, I don’t have any stats but I know that if you want a reliable sedan, it’ll be Asian, a Camry for example.
I drive a Nissan Sentra and my wife drives a Subaru.
I drive a Toyota and probably won’t ever drive anything else. Super reliable, they hold up well, and maintenance isn’t expensive. Great cars.
Very. Toyota, Honda, Kia/Hyundai, Subaru, Nissan and Mazda are all pretty popular, and generally considered on-par or better than American options, except when it comes to full size trucks. European brands are generally considered either a trendy alternative (VW) or somewhat upscale (BMW, Audi, Mercedes). However, it’s a pretty well held belief that Asian brands, especially Japanese cars, are the most reliable and well built, with American cars being middle of the road and European cars being overly complex and expensive to maintain.
Very popular. They have a great reputation of reliability.
Extremely.
I’m American, born and raised and I strongly prefer Japanese cars over American ones. I don’t know anybody who really prefers European brands. Honda and Toyota have a reputation for being more reliable and requiring less maintenance than American brands.
Some like Toyota, Kia, Honda, Subaru, Nissan & Hyundai are among the most popular brands.
Very popular. Honda, Toyota, Kia and Hyundai cars are everywhere.
I see Japanese cars every time I leave the house. I drive a Honda myself and when I’m ready to get another car, I plan to buy a Honda.
Edit: Korean cars are quite popular in my hometown as well.
I’ve got a Nissan in front of my house, so…
The Subaru Outback is practically the official state car of Vermont.
I will not waste my time or money on American or European cars.
They are very popular. Keep in mind also that many of those manufacturers have factories locally so there’s more than enough business to keep them in business. For many the Camry and Corolla are two cars that come to mind when people think about reliability.
Asian cars are very popular, but if someone is looking for a truck the most popular brands are American.
Hondas and Subarus are extremely popular here in Montana.
I think most sedans and wagons I see by far are Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Kia, or Hyundai.
Trucks and SUVs are little more balanced – Asian brands are still plentiful, but American brands probably sell just slightly better. (Not going off data; just what I see.)
Toyota taco all day long
I will likely never own a non-Asian vehicle. I drove a Honda Accord in high school, a Mazda Protegé5 in college, bought a Kia Sorento right after college, and bought a Honda CR-V in 2020.
Extremely.
Until my dad bought a Jeep, all my family has ever owned while I was growing up we’re Honda (and one Toyota).
I’d give someone $100 if they could go an entire day in a suburban area without seeing at least 10 Toyotas and 10 Hondas.
Toyota, Honda and Hyundai are super popular. Honda and Toyota especially are like the gold standard for affordable reliable sedan/family cars.
Every Americanade car I’ve owned had at some point completely screwed me and left me stranded on the side of the road for one reason or another.
My last 3 vehicles were Hondas. No issues.
Japanese/Korean cars are very popular. No other Asian country has broken into the market.
Work at Toyota..hard not to have a slow day…
Pretty popular actually!
Toyota is probably one of if not the best selling brands in the United States.
I probably see more Toyotas on the road than anything else
Probably the most popular… more reliable and better engineered than American brands, more affordable and more reliable than the European brands. Vehicles like a Toyota Camry and RAV-4, Honda CR-V are top selling passenger vehicles in the US
They are more popular than European brands.
The only European brands remotely popular here in a significant way are German and Swedish. The rest are more novelties.
Honda alone sells almost as many cars per year as the top 5 European brands put together.
Japanese and Korean makes are super common. Pretty much nothing in the way of Indian or Chinese brands.
A lot of them are built in the US, so pretty popular.
They have become more popular in the USA.
Asian car brands have had a long reputation of being strong and reliable, and the best selling vehicles in the market right now are all from Asian brands.
Asian cars are very popular in the USA. The most common car brand I have seen is a Toyota followed by hands then Hyundai. At one point after I started driving I saw a Toyota at least 1 in 4 cars while driving.
[6 of the top 10 most popular brands sold in the US are from Asia](https://www.statista.com/statistics/264362/leading-car-brands-in-the-us-based-on-vehicle-sales/)
Extremely… Toyota and Honda and other Asian manufactures make their cars in America. Some of their cars are more “American made” than our domestic brands.
